Fish and Health: Eat healthy, live better.
Fish is a food rich in fundamentally important substances for our well-being, such as high-quality proteins, phosphorus, vitamins and essential fatty acids. Eating fish helps to protect the body against diseases and disorders typical of modern-day society. In addition to its known positive effects on the cardiovascular system, the consumption of fish - and in particular, the omega 3 fatty acids it contains – is currently being studied for the many benefits it has on cognitive function, mood, the retina, tissue reconstruction and a wide range of metabolic disorders.
Often, when these topics are discussed, the fact that tinned fish represents one of the main forms of consumption of this precious food is often neglected. Tinned tuna, mackerel, salmon and sardines enter our homes and appear on our tables with most of their
nutritional characteristics
intact, in safely preserving and
quality controlled
containers that are also easy to use. These characteristics enable us all, even those who live a long way from the sea, to reach the optimum fish intake for our health.
Plenty of good reasons for eating fish
The statistics say that we still do not eat enough fish in our diet, often because it takes time to prepare it (above all to clean it) or because it’s hard to find. This is why it is important to point out that
tinned fish
is a valid alternative to fresh fish: it is
versatile, easy and quick to prepare, easy to digest, carefully controlled and does not contain preservatives
.
Tinned fish helps to ensure a complete and healthy diet for the whole family, in line with the recommendations of the scientific community, which encourage the population to follow a Mediterranean diet.
Now more than ever before, a varied and balanced diet is a must for our wellbeing and health, without us having to give up the taste and pleasure of good food.
